1) Formation of new society.
This point was discussed at length - almost one and half hour spent on this one point. Everyone unanimously agreed that we need to form the new society and take over the charge from the builder. In between few members expressed displeasure about the way the current adhoc committee is functioning. Managing committee has to function in such a way everyone feels at the end of the day its - of the people, for the people and by the people. Ad hoc committee had recommended a 10 people committee to work on the project of formation of the new society. Members felt committee can't su-moto recommend people on its own - whereas they need to be selected in the meeting by way of nomination by members . This issue was discussed at length and finally it was decided that in addition to 10 people recommended, 5 more people will be nominated by the members present in the meeting. Then members present in the meeting - proposed 5 people's name including that of Captain Sharma and Mr Sundaresan who were playing instrumental role in the initial days.
Ad hoc committee informed that There are almost 40 things pending from builders side and they are already in the process getting them sorted out with the builder. Members insisted the list of 40 things should be displayed or circulated to all the members so that everyone is aware of the same and nothing gets missed out. Chairman read out the list for the information of members. [ Suggest the same can be displayed on the notice board].
2) Appointment of Estate Manager
Members agreed to the appointment of estate manager since it is important to have once person who will be responsible for the day today affairs of the society.
3) Changing of the security guards
Most of the members felt changing the agency every one - or - two years will not help. We need to identify the specific issues and take it up the management of the security agency and get it fixed from time to time. Even if a new agency is appointed, we will face the similar type of problems after 5-6 months. It was pointed out that members should also respect and listen to the security since they are working only in the interest of the society. Issues should be taken up with the committee rather than picking up arguments with the security.
4) General
Everybody felt, Adhoc committee should keep the members informed from time to time on the progress of various projects/issues. [ suggest the minutes of the meeting is also displayed on the notice boards] Even when the notice for meetings circulated, all the agenda's should have the details/explantions so that meetings can happen with better focus and decisions can be taken faster in a much efficent way.
Finally the meeting concluded with vote of thanks.

PIN CODE OR PAIN CODE
I am staying in Neelkanth palms for the last 3 years and have been using the Pin Code 400607.
I have been receiving the snail mail without any problem.
Recently I had applied for my passport and had indicated the same Pin Code on the application as well. Though it was overdue and confirmed by the travel agent that it was despatched by the passport office, I was not in receipt and hence visited the post office near D-Mart to enquire the status.
I was in for a shock when they told me that our area pin code is 400610.
The pin code 400607 belongs to Sandoz, Kolshet post office and first it would go there and then would be redirected to D-Mart post office.
The folks at Sandoz post office were not happy to help me which resulted in a delay of about 3 working days.
Meanwhile I checked all my mail and found that I have been receiving mail with pin code 400601 as well.
So I have these 3 pin codes - 400601, 400607 and 400610.
What exactly is our pain code, oops pin code that would deliver the mail at the earliest?

Message from GOD!
GOD: Hello. Did you call me?
Me: Called you? No... Who is this?
GOD: This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.
Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the
midst of something.
GOD: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
Me: Don't know. But I can't find free time. Life has become hectic. It's
rush hour all the time.
GOD: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results.
Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was not
expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
GOD: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some
clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are
comfortable with.
Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
GOD: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it
complicated.
Me: Why are we then constantly unhappy?
GOD: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are
worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's
why you are not happy.
Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
GOD: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.
GOD: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
GOD: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified
without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer.
With that experience their life becomes better not bitter.
Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?
GOD: Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test
first and the lessons afterwards.
Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can't we be free
from problems?
GOD: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to)
Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance,
not when you are free from problems.
Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are
heading...
GOD: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look
inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide
sight. Heart provides insight.
Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the
right direction. What should I do?
GOD: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as
decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you
rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock..
Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
GOD: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to
go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Me: What surprises you about people?
GOD: When they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask
"Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on
the side of the truth.
Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I can't get the answer.
GOD: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop
looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a
process of discovery but a process of creation.
Me: How can I get the best out of life?
GOD: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without fear.
Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
GOD: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO some times
its WAIT - the time is not right. Think about it.
Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.
GOD: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and
doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve.
Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

Excess Billing by MSEB
When I received the electricity bill for the month of January I was shocked! as the bill amount was triple the monthly average of earlier months. This is because of the gross negligence of the MSEB billing staff. They have not visited the society to record the meter reading. If you see the bill, they have used earlier time’s photo and have blackened the meter reading part of it. Bill is showing “6097” as the closing reading on 27/01/09. However the actual reading is only “6057” on 26/02/09. Means it’s very much higher even after one month of consumption. I had to run from pillar to post for almost 10 days to just make them visit the society and take actual reading again. Till date my bill is not yet adjusted.
We as honest tax payers, pay income tax, service tax, VAT, octrai, toll, etc. And at the end of the day this is the type of service we get from the government. We are already busy with our work in the hard hit recession period and we are harassed for none of our fault and for the inefficiency of government staffs. If we don’t pay the amount in time we are penalized. Same way for this kind of gross negligence these people should also be penalized. That will be the day when we can say we are truly democratic.
I’m not the only person facing this problem. Lot of other residents in our society also has faced the same issue. MSEB higher authorities should look into the matter and fix it up once for all.

We and our Children
It is a very common habit and a natural tendency to brand and mark children as naughty, selfish, aggressive, rebellious and so on. Once we mark a child as naughty, selfish, lazy, fat, stupid, rude, careless or anything else (we lable them). If children believe that label, they will start living up to it. They'll think There's no point my making an effort, I know I'm lazy everybody thinks so. Why should I change myself
It is always the right earnest thing to say, He's not a naughty boy but, a good boy who's done naughty things. What should be done is to condemn their behavior, not them.
We should try to fix the problem not the person. Once we shift our focus to the action and not the doer our prospective changes and we start viewing our own children in a different light.
If a child eats with his mouth open or makes the table messy he can be told why it is important to eat with the mouth closed and exhibit good manners. It is the child’s action, which needs to be corrected, not the child as such.
If the child is in a habit of banging the door, refrain from shouting at him. Just inculcate in him the basic tenet that banging doors is a rude thing to do and does not speak well for a smart personality like him. That way we don’t pass a comment only on their wrong behavior but subtly praise them as well for some commendable aspect of their personality.
Positive labels are a motivating force. We should delve deeper and search that one endearing, lovable and charming quality in our child and give a positive label. If labels are accurate and realistic like careful, polite and helpful - children will likewise live up to it. There act as motivators reinforcing good behavior when there is a lapse. I was really surprised to see you shout so loudly. I always think of you as a gentle and polite person

What is recession?
This Story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hotdogs by the roadside. He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers. He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio. His eyes were weak, so he never watched television.
But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hotdogs. He was smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales. His sales and profit went up. He ordered more a more raw material and buns and use to sale more. He recruited few more supporting staff to serve more customers. He started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and better stove.
As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from College, joined his father. Then something strange happened.
The son asked, Dad, aren't you aware of the great recession that is coming our way? The father replied, No, but tell me about it.. The son said, The international situation is terrible. The domestic situation is even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad times.
The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, listened to the radio and watched TV. He ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly. So the next day onwards, the father cut down the his raw material order and buns, took down the colourful signboard, removed all the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as enthusiastic. He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs. Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his hotdog stand. And his sales started coming down rapidly, same is the profit.
The father said to his son, Son, you were right. We are in the middle of a recession and crisis. I am glad you warned me ahead of time.
Moral of The Story: It's all in your MIND! And we actually FUEL this recession much more than we think we do!!!!!!!
What can we take away from this story??
1. How many times we confuse intelligence with good judgment?
2. Choose your advisers carefully but use your own judgment
3. A person or an organization will survive forever, if they have the 5 Cs
* Character
* Commitment
* Conviction
* Courtesy
* Courage
The tragedy today is that there are many walking encyclopedias that are living failures.
The More practical and appropriate views on this economic recession is -
This is the time to reunite together for any small or a big organization
This is the time to motivate and retain people which are the biggest asset
This is the time to show more commitments to the customers
This is the time show values of our company to the world
